Horizon Aviation Earns FAA Examining Authority for Our Cessna Instrument Rating - Airplane Course
We’re proud to announce that Horizon Aviation has officially earned FAA Examining Authority for our Cessna Instrument Rating – Airplane course under Part 141 based on our leading track record of checkride successes.
This milestone reflects the FAA’s confidence in the quality, structure, and consistency of our training program—and represents a significant benefit for our students.
With examining authority, eligible students who complete our Part 141 Cessna Instrument Rating course can now take their end-of-course practical test in-house with an approved Horizon Aviation 141 check instructor, removing the need to schedule with an external Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).
What This Means for Our Students
- Faster practical test scheduling
- Reduced costs with fewer “currency” flights waiting for your checkride
- Greater continuity throughout the program
- A more streamlined and predictable training experience
This new designation builds on our existing FAA Examining Authority for our Cessna 141 Private Pilot course.
Few schools earn examining authority—fewer still earn it twice. At Horizon Aviation, we’re proud to meet that standard across multiple stages of pilot training.
This advancement is part of our continued commitment to delivering efficient, professional, and student-focused flight training under the FAA Part 141 framework.
We look forward to helping even more students achieve their Instrument Rating with greater confidence and momentum.
